UPDATE FROM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR VINCE

April 5, 2023

To Our Residents and Family Members:

Helen Purcell has updated several COVID -19 Policies. We have posted our new policies on our website. These policies will take effect 4/7/2023.

For your convenience I have listed some of the pertinent changes below:

• All employees, residents and visitors are encouraged to remain up to date with ALL recommended COVID-19 vaccine doses and be educated on the importance of remaining up to date on all doses in the primary series and all boosters recommended.

• Source control(masking) will NOT be required when Muskingum County COVID-19 Transmission Rate is Low (green) unless we have active cases in the facility. At any time, the county transmission rate moves to moderate (orange), or high (red) source control and social distancing will be required.

• Visitors are asked not to enter the facility if they meet any of the following three criteria:

⚬ a positive viral test for SARS-CoV-2 with in the last 14 days

⚬ symptoms of COVID-19, (cough or difficulty breathing or two or more of the following: fever, chills, repeated shaking with chills, sore throat, body aches, headache or new loss of taste or smell, GI symptoms (vomiting, nausea, diarrhea), congestion or runny nose), or

⚬ close contact with someone with SARS-CoV-2 infection within the last 14 days.

• At this time Communal Dining will reopen to guests. The resident/family member must notify the Dining Department 24 hours in advance that they will have guests. Failure to notify the Dining Department in advance may result in a meal not being available.

• Communal Dining would be closed to guests when there is active COVID-19 in the facility or when Muskingum County Transmission Rate moves from low(green) to moderate(orange) and/or high(red).

We realize there is a lot of information related to these policies and understand that you may have questions on these topics. We request that you please review the policies and direct your questions to either, Vince Durant at 740-453-1745 ext. 106, or Missy Miller, RN, Director of Resident Health & Administrative Services, at the same number using ext. 101.

This is a constantly changing situation that makes it difficult to communicate in a timely manner via regular mail. Please check our website at helenpurcell.org often for any updates or changes to these policies.

Your cooperation is very much appreciated.

Sincerely,

Vince Durant

Executive Director
